Zen & Tao Poetic 9 - The right moment

朱熹: 观书有感(2)

昨夜江边春水生,
艨艟巨舰一毛轻。
向来枉费推移力,
此日中流自在行。

My translation of ZhuXi: Inspired by literature (two)

Spring tides at river side appeared yesterday night,
Trapped huge war-ship feels feather light.
Wasteful energy always lost in unsuccessful attempts.
In the right moment everything looks bright.

Paul's comment: Less sophisticated and hence but popular than the first one, though still inspiring. Afterall, ZhuXi was more of a classical scholar (in the Sung Dynasty) than a creative poet.
